The Emergency Management Act requires the implementation of a mandatory emergency program by all municipalities in Ontario.


The Municipality of Bluewater's Community Emergency Management Committee consists of Council and staff and is the critical team that oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of a community management program. 

The Community Emergency Management Coordinator is the primary person responsible and accountable for the program. The Coordinator works with the committee to develop and update an emergency response plan, ensure that municipal staff are trained and knowledgeable about their roles in the event of an emergency and develop and implement a public awareness program to foster awareness about emergency preparedness and community emergency management within the Municipality of Bluewater. 

No community is equipped to handle all the demands of a catastrophe.  Knowing what to do when a disaster strikes will help you better control the situation and be in a better position to recover more quickly.

Make sure everyone in your family knows what to do before, during and after an emergency. Your best protection in any emergency is being prepared.
