Wildlife Concerns

Distemper and rabies are viruses that can be contracted by dogs. Keep your family, livestock and your pet safe by watching for the signs of distemper and rabies in small wildlife that happen to wander onto your property.

Racoons with distemper or rabies may approach people or curl up and sleep in open areas in close proximity to people. They generally act disoriented or lethargic but can become aggressive if cornered.

The Municipality will trap and remove small wildlife which appear to be affected by distemper or rabies from your property. Please contact Bradley Travis, Animal Control Officer at 519-525-6423.
