2026 Fall watermain flushing
Fall watermain flushing will be completed in Bluewater by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) from the end of October to December. Flushing will take place Monday to Friday.
The schedule is as follows:
- Hensall Zurich Distribution System (Hensall)—October 5 to 16
- Hensall Zurich Distribution System (Zurich)—October 19 to 30
- Bluewater Distribution System (Lakeshore)—November 2 to 20
- Bluewater Distribution System (Bayfield)—November 23 to December 11
- Varna Distribution System—October 15 and December 17
You may experience discoloured water coming from your tap. If this happens, we suggest removing the tap aerators from your taps and flushing the cold water house line until it runs clear. Flush out your hot water tanks. This is to remove the accumulated iron that precipitates out in the tank. This iron may also decrease the efficiency of your water tank.
You may experience fluctuating water pressures because of the flushing activities.
