Free Blue Flag Events Coming to Bayfield This Summer

The Municipality of Bluewater is inviting residents and visitors to take part in free Blue Flag outreach events this summer. These fun, family-friendly activities are a great way to learn about water safety, the environment, and how we can all help protect the Great Lakes.

Bayfield Marina is proud to be a Blue Flag marina, an international recognition for meeting high standards in environmental care, water quality, safety, and education. Through these events, the Municipality hopes to help people learn more about the Blue Flag program while enjoying activities along Bayfield's beautiful waterfront.

Upcoming Events:

• Painting with Plants:

Painting with Plants is a watercolor painting activity inspired by Great Lakes fish habitats. This hands-on activity is open to all ages and is a fun way to learn about the plants and animals that call our local waters home.

Time and Location: Tuesday, July 28th from 3:30-5:30pm at the Huron County Library Bayfield Branch

• Paddle & Learn

Before or after your paddle, stop by our Blue Flag Kayak Kiosk at the River Flats for Paddle & Learn. Pick up free resources and giveaways while learning simple ways to stay safe on the water and help care for our local shoreline. 

Time and Location: Tuesday, August 11th at 6:00pm at the Blue Flag Kayak Kiosk at the River Flats | Rain date: August 18th

• Waterfront Movie Night

Wrap up the summer with a free outdoor showing of Moana. Gates open at 8:15pm and the movie starts at 8:45pm. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a movie by the lake with family and friends.
