Notice to Residents–Stanley Landfill Operations

The Municipality is providing notice that work will commence the week of June 22 on the final cover and cap of the Stanley Landfill. The site has reached its rated capacity, and this work forms part of the landfill closure process and the transition to a transfer station.

During this period, there will be increased activity in and around the site, including heavy equipment operation and increased truck traffic. Construction vehicles will also be accessing the site through the Stanley Community Centre parking lot. Please use caution in the area and be mindful of construction activity.

Waste disposal services will continue to be available at the site during construction. An interim transfer station has been established outside of the construction area and will operate during the landfill's regularly scheduled hours. Residents may notice minor changes to site operations while construction is underway.

A permanent transfer station will be installed following completion of the project.
