2025 Fall watermain flushing
Fall watermain flushing will be completed in Bluewater by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) from the end of September to November. Flushing will take place Monday to Friday.
The schedule is as follows:
- Hensall Zurich Distribution System (Hensall)—September 29 to October 3
- Hensall Zurich Distribution System (Zurich)—October 6 to 10
- Bluewater Distribution System (Lakefront)—October 13 to 31
- Bluewater Distribution System (Bayfield)—October 27 to November 14
- Varna Distribution System—November 20 (final flush for 2025)
You may experience discoloured water coming from your tap. If this happens, we suggest removing the tap aerators from your taps and flushing the cold water house line until it runs clear. Flush out your hot water tanks. This is to remove the accumulated iron that precipitates out in the tank. This iron may also decrease the efficiency of your water tank.
You may experience fluctuating water pressures because of the flushing activities.
