Council Highlights—June 2

At its Regular Meeting of Council on June 2, 2025, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:

  • Declared June to be Pride Month.
  • Approved an amendment to the Short Term Rental By-law, that a record of the Short-Term Rental Licences shall be posted on the municipal website, and this record may include, the address of the Premises, the Short-Term Rental Licence Number, and the legal description of the Premises.
  • Accepted the recommendation of BM Ross and Associates Limited to award the tender of Bridge B21 Repair contract no. BR986 to AJN Builders Inc. for a total contract price of $147,325.00 excluding HST.
  • Awarded the Optional Provisional Lighting Replacement at the Hensall Ball Diamond, as submitted in Tender BW-FAC-02-2024, to Forman Electric Ltd. in the amount of $78,532.00 plus HST.
  • Approved an "Amendment to Budget" to the Facilities Department 2025 Operating Budget to reflect the $55,000 of funding and associated expenses for the Senior Active Living Centre.
  • Directed staff to work with the GeoReach Program to install CoastReach Cradles at the Pier Beach, Howard Street Beach and Houston Heights Beach (Pavillion Road).
