Council Highlights—October 20

At its Regular Meeting of Council on October 20, 2025, Council of the Municipality of Bluewater:
- Appointed Chandra Alexander as Acting Chief Administrative Officer for the Corporation of the Municipality of Bluewater.
- Approved the installation of stop signs to create a three-way stop at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Queen Street West in Hensall.
- Approved the Bluewater Winter Operations Plan for the 2025-2026 winter season.
- Approved reallocating the 2025 funds originally designated for the replacement of Vehicle 7074, being capital project FL25-02, to the purchase of a covered trailer, at an estimated cost of $70,000, to support sidewalk plow operations. Also, directed Staff to include funding for an alternative vehicle suitable to support winter operations for towing the sidewalk plow as part of the 2026 Staff Presented Capital Budget.
- Directed Staff to install “No Dogs Allowed” signage at the cemeteries and remove any dog waste bags currently installed at any of the Bluewater managed cemeteries.
- Directed staff to apply to the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant for two emergency road closure trailers and traffic cones.
- Directed staff to submit a project proposal for an Environmental Action Plan for Bluewater to Western University’s Masters of Environment and Sustainability Projects partnership program.
- Directed staff to apply to the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) Grow Grant to expand youth programs including Summer Day Camp, PA Day Camps and Youth Drop-in programs.
