Notice of sanitary sewer system flushing—Hensall

Notice to users of the Hensall sanitary sewer system

Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) will commence flushing of the sanitary sewer system in the Municipality of Bluewater in Hensall from July 22 to 24th, 2025.

You may notice toilets bubbling during this time. It is recommended to keep toilet lids shut.

Additionally, this notice is to inform residents that a sanitary back water valve (check valve) can help mitigate the impact of a sewage backup. If you do not have a sanitary back water valve installed, you may wish to hire a plumber to install one at your expense. Please contact our Development Services Department for questions relating to a sanitary back water valve.

Future notifications of sanitary sewer system flushing in your area will be provided by social media, the local newspaper and the municipal website. Individual notices may not be mailed to residents.
