To be eligible to vote in the Municipal Election, your name must be on the Voters List
We all play a role in ensuring a fair electoral system, and it is the responsibility of every elector to make sure their information is up-to-date and accurately reflected for electoral purposes.
If you are a resident, owner or tenant of property in Ontario, a Canadian citizen and 18 years of age or older, on the day of the Election you can vote in Ontario’s municipal and school board elections.
Make sure your name is on the list to vote!
Your name must be on the Voters’ List in order for you to cast a ballot. The Voters' List is just what it sounds like - a list of the people living in a municipality who are eligible to vote. If you are not on the Voters’ List, or if your information is incorrect you may apply to have your name added or your information corrected. After September 1 to the close of voting on October 24, 2022 confirmation must be made through the municipal office.
A Revision and Help Centre will be located at the municipal office (14 Mill Avenue, Zurich) to make additions, deletions and corrections to the Voters List and to provide assistance and clarification on the election process. If you want to add your name to the Voters List or make a correction to your information you will need to complete an Application to Amend Voters List Form (EL15), providing proof of identity and residence and submit to the municipal office. See list of acceptable documents for voter identification.
